• National Volunteer Month…by Hannah Rodgers

As we reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice for us on Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday, we are reminded that He is the greatest servant of all. Because of His great sacrifice for us, we can serve those in need in His name. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many,” says Mark 10:45.

In April, Haven of Rest celebrates National Volunteer Month. We are so very grateful for the selflessness and generosity of our dedicated volunteers who graciously donate their time, talents, and treasures at the Mission. Last year 5,756 volunteers donated 46,144 hours of service to the Mission in a variety of ways. We are so thankful to the Lord for their service.

We are also thankful for our volunteers that work behind the scenes of the Mission in special ways. Our Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, and Women’s Auxiliary Officers volunteer countless hours and tremendous effort to serve Haven of Rest without remuneration. These men and women have been a blessing and we are so grateful that they choose to live out the mission of Haven of Rest with their gifts and talents.

How richly God has provided for Haven of Rest! Please continue to pray for our volunteer department and all the men, women, and children who donate their time to serving the Lord at Haven of Rest Ministries.
