PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
Homeless people who come to Haven of Rest seeking shelter for the night are served an evening meal and breakfast the next morning. Those enrolled in resident rehabilitation programs receive three meals per day. In addition, lunch and dinner are available every day to any needy, hungry person.
No One Should Go Hungry...
Every day in our community hundreds of men, women, and children face the prospect of going hungry.
Hunger is not just a problem for the homeless; it also touches individuals and families whose low incomes often demand they make a choice between buying food and paying rent and utility bills.
To help in the fight against hunger, Haven of Rest provides hundreds of thousands of free meals annually.
Because much of the food used in the preparation of these meals is donated, the average cost is only $1.92 per meal.

...Or Spend Their Days Alone On the Streets
For the homeless, there is an alternative to wandering the city's streets hopeless, alone, and often in danger.
The men and women's day rooms in Haven of Rest's Client Services Center provide more than just safe shelter.
They are the entry point at which physically and spiritually destitute men and women can begin a rehabilitation process that will lead to meaningful, productive lives.
...Or Go Unclothed
For many homeless and low-income people, securing adequate clothing is often a major problem.

To help meet their needs, Haven of Rest operates a large distribution center where thousands of pounds of donated clothing are processed and given away each year.
...Or Be Without a Place to Sleep
Whatever the reason for an individual's homelessness, coming to the end of the day and having no place to spend the night can be a humiliating, discouraging and often frightening experience.
That's why providing safe lodging is an essential part of Haven of Rest's efforts to help homeless people.
After a good meal and a hot shower, being given a night's rest in a clean, warm bed is often the added act of kindness that brings renewed hope to a shattered life.
The dormitories in Haven of Rest's Client Services Center can accommodate up to 100 homeless men. At Harvest Home there are accommodations for 52 women and children. When demand is greater, mats are set up for the overflow.
